Champagne Marguet-Ambonnay-Grand Cru 2018
Champagne Marguet is located in Ambonnay, in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne . The estate is managed by Benoît Marguet . The Ambonnay vineyard extends over 7.30 hectares in the places called Les Saints Remys, Les Beurys, Les Crayères, La Grande Ruelle, Les Bermonts and Le Parc. He also owns 0.70 hectares in the Grand Cru Bouzy. The vines are exploited in biodynamic agriculture with phytotherapy (infusion and decoction of medicinal plants) and aromatherapy (essential oil). The soil has been plowed with draft horses since 2010. The well-being of the soil is a priority for the harvester-handler, and it is said that the horse is linked to 3 elements of the terroir: mineral (chalk), vegetal ( vine and flora) and animal (fauna, human). In the cellar, the fermentations are made by localities (parcels) in wooden vats and barrels. The aging on lees is long and the use of sulfur is minimal at bottling.
Ambonnay 2018 is a blend of Pinot Noir (63%) and Chardonnay (37%) from Grand Cru plots. The draw took place in June 2019 and the wine was disgorged in February 2023. It is a Brut Nature , without dosage.
Grapes: 63% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay
