Pazo Barrantes - Gran Vino Albariño 2020
Pazo Barrantes is located in the Salnés Valley, in the heart of the Rias Baixas in Galicia, Spain . The 12-hectare estate, divided into eight plots, is planted with the local Albariño grape variety. The property belongs to the Cebrián-Sagarriga family , also owners of the Marqués de Murrieta bodega in La Rioja.
The Gran Vino Pazo Barrantes is made from Albariño grown on a granite and sandy terroir, whose vines are around forty years old. After manual harvesting, the harvest is destemmed and put into direct pressing. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats where the wine remains for 2 months on fine lees . It is then aged for 7 months in stainless steel vats (85%) and acacia barrels (15%) .
