Famille Perrin - Côtes du Rhône Reserve Red 2021
The Perrin family has been established in the Rhône Valley since the beginning of the 20th century. In 1909, Pierre Tramier acquired the Château de Beaucastel in Châteuneuf-du-Pape. Subsequently, his son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, followed by his son Jacques, developed Beaucastel and the vineyards he owned. Today, it is the 5th generation that operates the wine properties: Château de Beaucastel, Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins, Domaine du Clos des Tourelles, Famille Perrin, La Vieille Ferme as well as Miraval en Provence. From 1950, they innovated by working in organic farming , then in 1974, they converted the Château de Beaucastel vineyard to biodynamics.
The Famille Perrin range allows you to discover all the terroirs and the richness of the Southern Rhône Valley. With the same know-how and the same passion as for the Château de Beaucastel, the Perrin Family strives to reveal the essence of each terroir, its authenticity, its specificity while mastering the biological and biodynamic approach, the art of the blend and the freshness of the aromas of the South.
The Côte-du-Rhône Réserve is a blend of Grenache (40%), Mourvèdre (40%) and Syrah (20%) , grown on stony clay-limestone soils and gravelly clay soils in the Prébois vineyard, and on terraces rich in quartz and marly limestone in Vinsobres. The grapes are sorted and destemmed then fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats of 150 to 190 hectoliters. The extraction is done by careful pumping over according to the tasting. After devatting and malolactic fermentation, the wines are transferred partly to wooden vats and partly to stainless steel vats where they will be aged for 12 months .
