Domaine Alain Graillot - La Guiraude 2020
Domaine Alain Graillot is located in the Rhône Valley, in the Crozes-Hermitage , Hermitage and Saint-Joseph appellations. The estate was founded in 1985 by Alain Graillot and today covers 22 hectares, mainly planted with Syrah and three hectares of Marsanne and Roussanne. He also owns two plots in Saint-Joseph and a small plot in Hermitage. The vineyards are managed using non-certified organic farming .
In 2010, Alain Graillot handed over the reins of the Domaine to his sons, Maxime and Antoine , to devote himself to a viticulture and oenology consultancy business, until his death in March 2022. Since 2013, the Graillot family has also started producing Beaujolais wines at Domaine de Fa.
La Guiraude is a cuvée made from a selection of the best barrels of the vintage . Vinification is carried out using whole bunches, with cold maceration and long vatting. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in vats. Aging lasts one year, in oak barrels with very few new barrels.
Grape variety: 100% Syrah
"A concentrate of the Northern Rhône, both wild and sophisticated. A Syrah with a very Graillot style: precise, distinguished, and perfect for aging... or to accompany a smoked duck breast tonight!"
