Arianna Occhipinti - Il Frappato 2021

Azienda Agricola Arianna Occhipinti is located in Vittoria, Sicily . Owner-winemaker Arianna Occhipinti is recognized as one of the leading advocates of the natural wine movement and has enjoyed a meteoric rise since releasing her first vintage in 2006, when she was just 24 years old. The vineyards, which extend over 22 hectares, are not all certified organic, but are cultivated without pesticides, fungicides, herbicides or chemical and synthetic fertilizers.

Il Frappato is made from Frappato coming exclusively from Vittoria. Fermentation begins with native yeasts, with a 25-day skin maceration. Part of the wine is aged for 6 months in concrete vats , and the other part in 30 hectoliter Austrian oak barrels . The wine is then aged for an additional month in bottle.
