Guiseppe Campagnola - Casotto del Merlo - Reciotto della Valpolicella 2019
Cantina Campagnola is located in Marano di Valpolicella, in Veneto, Italy . The estate was founded by Carlo Campagnola at the beginning of the 20th century. The fifth generation is now in charge of operations. The Campagnola family's estates extend from Valpolicella to the Bardolino area, on the shores of Lake Garda; from the territories of Mortegliano in Friuli to the hills of Buccianico in Abruzzo. Giuseppe Campagnola also cooperates with more than fifty winegrowers, mainly in the Marano Valley. He also gets grapes from the Soave region.
Reciotto della Valpolicella Classico is made from Corvina and Corvinone (70%) and Rondinella (30%) . During manual harvesting, only the best bunches are selected. The raisined grapes using the “ Appassimento ” method are dried for approximately 140 days. In February, they are pressed and left to macerate for around 30 days. The wine is drawn off when it contains 130 g/L of residual sugar. It is cooled to low temperature and filtered to prevent alcoholic fermentation from continuing and to retain the desired residual sugar. The resulting wine is aged for 18 to 24 months in new medium-heated Allier oak barrels , followed by 6 months in the bottle.
Grape varieties: 70% Corvina and Corvinone, 30% Rondinella
