Domaine Bernard Gripa - Le Berceau - Saint Joseph 2022
Domaine Bernard Gripa is located in Mauves, in the north of the Rhône Valley . The estate was created in 1974 and has been managed since 2001 by his son Fabrice Gripa . It produces wines in the Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph appellations. The vineyard covers just under 20 hectares on granite and limestone soils. The estate is managed with respect for the environment and the promotion of the terroir. In the cellar, he mainly uses 228 liter Burgundy barrels or 600 liter barrels. The wines are aged in wood for between 8 and 12 months depending on the vintages.
Saint-Joseph Le Berceau Rouge is made from Syrah from a granite terroir. The harvest is partially destemmed (70%) then left to ferment in open vats. Maceration lasts 2 to 3 weeks, with some punching down and pumping over. The wine is aged for 12 months in 228 liter oak barrels .
