Clos Larrouyat - Comet 2024
Clos Larrouyat is located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in the Jurançon appellation. It is an estate created by Maxime Salharang in 2011, in honor of his maternal grandfather, Roger Larrouyat. The 3-hectare vineyard is managed biodynamically on a unique terroir of pebble sheets from the Ossau Valley, but is only certified organic . Maxime Salharang mainly cultivates two grape varieties: Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng.
Comète is the top-of-the-range cuvée from Clos Larrouyat. This dry Jurançon is made from Petit Manseng (75%) , supplemented with Camaralet , a grape variety native to the Pyrenees which brings a spicy aromatic touch.
Grape varieties: 75% Petit Manseng, 25% Camaralet
"Intense nose of ripe yellow fruits, fresh ginger and white pepper. The palate is full, textured, vibrant, with a long finish of noble bitters."
