CLAU DE NELL - Chenin Blanc - Biodynamics 2016

 In 2008, Anne-Claude LEFLAIVE & Christian JACQUES, her husband, acquired Domaine CLAU de NELL through the greatest of luck. "We did not choose Clau de Nell, it was Clau de Nell who chose us" will say the new owners. The 8.5 ha of vines have been cultivated since 2000 in Biodynamics. In 2009, Sylvain POTIN joined the management of the Estate and together, on the strength of their personal experiences, they invested in the restructuring of the Estate. In the heart of a privileged nature, far from any pollution, the Cabernets Francs and Cabernets Sauvignon of more than 30 years, the Grolleaus planted for 60 to 90 years find a new energy to produce magnificent red wines free of any chemical treatment, simply accompanied by herbal teas, silica, and other biodynamic preparations.

First vintage for this 100% Chenin cuvée - mass selection in English graft from Lilian Berillon nurseries. High planting density of around 6200 plants / ha. Manual harvest by successive sorting, selection of golden grapes and exclusion of botrytis. Harvested in 12 kg crates. Aging for 18 months, 12 of which were then 6 months in vats.

 A magnificent bottle to open today or to keep for a few years to appreciate its evolution.
