The Château de Beaucastel, located in Courthézon at the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, is recognized worldwide as one of the greatest estates of the Southern Rhône. For generations, the Perrin family has mastered the art of blending the thirteen authorized grape varieties, always focusing on terroir respect, biodynamics, and uncompromising quality. The cuvée Hommage à Jacques Perrin, created in 1989, pays tribute to Jacques Perrin, an emblematic figure of the estate. Produced only in outstanding vintages, this prestigious wine has become one of the most sought-after Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The 2017 vintage, marked by a hot and sunny summer, delivered grapes of exceptional ripeness. Made with a high proportion of Mourvèdre, Beaucastel’s signature grape, complemented by Grenache, Syrah, and Counoise, this cuvée stands out for its power, depth, and remarkable ageing potential. On tasting, the Hommage à Jacques Perrin 2017 shows a deep purple robe. The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe black fruits (blackberry, cassis), spices, truffle, and garrigue, with subtle smoky notes. The palate is ample, dense, and velvety, structured by silky tannins and great freshness. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent.

A true icon of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Château de Beaucastel belongs to the Perrin family, who for several generations have embodied the excellence of southern Rhône viticulture. Managed under organic and biodynamic farming, the estate is renowned for producing deep, elegant, and age-worthy wines, born from its exceptional terroir of rolled pebbles.

Created in tribute to Jacques Perrin, a visionary and emblematic figure of the estate, this rare and confidential cuvée is only produced in outstanding vintages. The 2017 edition ranks among Beaucastel’s greatest successes. Characterized by a hot, dry summer tempered by cool nights, the year offered perfect ripeness, particularly for the dominant grape in the blend, Mourvèdre. This cuvée showcases the nobility and power of Mourvèdre, enhanced by the depth of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s traditional varietals.

Its dark, almost black color promises remarkable intensity. The nose reveals concentrated aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, and blueberry, enriched with notes of licorice, leather, garrigue, and fine spices. On the palate, it displays great density and silkiness, supported by tannins of rare finesse, perfectly integrated. The structure is majestic, achieving a rare balance between power and elegance. The finish, incredibly long, unfolds with lingering notes of black fruits, truffle, and blond tobacco. A monumental wine, built for decades of aging.

Grapes: predominantly Mourvèdre, complemented by Grenache, Syrah, and Counoise.
