La Chartreuse – Liqueur du 9ème Centenaire – Mise 2025 – 47% is a rare and prestigious cuvée, created in 1984 to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the founding of the Monastery of the Grande Chartreuse (1084). It embodies the centuries-old heritage of the Carthusian Order and perpetuates the tradition of making liqueurs based on the manuscript transmitted in 1605, containing the recipe for the “Elixir of Long Life”. Developed by the Carthusian Fathers, this unique liqueur is the result of a complex maceration and distillation combining 130 plants, flowers, roots and spices. The selection and blending of herbs is still carried out within the monastery, by only two monks who are custodians of the secret. After maceration and distillation, the liqueur ages for several years in large oak barrels, in cellars renowned for offering one of the longest maturation periods in the world. The Chartreuse du 9ème Centenaire – 47% stands out for its balance between aromatic power and elegance. It has a brilliant golden color and a complex nose with herbaceous, floral, and spicy notes, enhanced by honeyed and resinous nuances. On the palate, it offers a full and structured body, combining vegetal freshness, sweet spices, and a subtle roundness. The long and harmonious finish testifies to the refinement and depth of this commemorative vintage. A true collector's item, the Chartreuse du 9ème Centenaire is intended for passionate amateurs, collectors, and connoisseurs seeking a unique experience, combining history, tradition, and intensity.
