Domaine Morey Coffinet - Burgundy Côte d'Or - White 2024
The Domaine Morey-Coffinet, based in Chassagne-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune, embodies a demanding and lively Burgundy. Born from the union of the Morey and Coffinet families, the estate cultivates its vines with a precise and respectful approach to natural balances. Managed under certified organic farming FR-BIO-01, it favors mechanical soil work and viticulture attentive to biodiversity. The vinifications are minimally interventionist to preserve the purity of the fruit and the faithful expression of the terroir. Even on its regional appellations, the estate applies the same rigor as for its grand crus, seeking tension, precision, and depth.
The Burgundy Côte d’Or White 2024 comes from an area of 0.96 hectare, located in the plain, on clay soils poor in limestone, giving the wine a broad and structured expression. The vines, planted in 1989, 2002, and 2013, are pruned in simple Guyot and Poussard, promoting balance and longevity. Soil cultivation is done by over-row cultivator and crawler tractor, ensuring vitality and deep rooting. The harvest is manual, allowing precise selection of grapes at optimal maturity. Made exclusively from Chardonnay, the 2024 vintage highlights a beautiful maturity combined with natural freshness.
On tasting, the wine reveals an elegant nose of white flowers, fresh pear, and citrus, accompanied by a subtle buttery touch. The palate is broad and harmonious, supported by a beautiful texture and balancing freshness. The clay brings roundness and structure, while the natural tension of Chardonnay ensures dynamism and length. The finish is clean, slightly saline, and persistent. This Burgundy Côte d’Or White will perfectly accompany fish, shellfish, or poultry in a light sauce, and can evolve favorably for a few years in the cellar.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
