Languedoc > Collioure
The Collioure Blanc 2024 from La Vallée des Abeilles is a rare vintage from the steep hills overlooking the Mediterranean, on iconic black schist terroirs of the Collioure appellation. The vines, worked manually in a demanding environment, root themselves in poor, well-drained soils, swept by sea winds and bathed in light. True to the estate's philosophy, this wine is the result of respectful work with living nature, where the vine is nurtured without artifice, in a constant search for balance and precision. The project follows the same human and sensitive approach as the other vintages from La Vallée des Abeilles, where wine is above all a story of place, gestures, and long time. The 2024 vintage achieved precise ripeness, combining solar richness and natural freshness. The nose opens with an elegant and expressive aromatic profile, blending ripe citrus, candied lemon, and grapefruit zest, accompanied by notes of pear, white-fleshed fruits, and delicate flowers. Upon aeration, iodized nuances appear, slightly aniseed, along with a marked mineral register that clearly evokes the proximity of the sea and the schistous nature of the soils. On the palate, the attack is broad and precise, with a texture both fleshy and taut. The mid-palate reveals a beautiful balance between body, saline freshness, and depth, carried by flavors of citrus, fresh almond, and a fine spicy touch. The finish is long, clean, and persistent, leaving a sensation of purity, minerality, and elegance typical of the great whites of Collioure. This Collioure Blanc 2024 will ideally accompany seafood cuisine, grilled or sauced fish, shellfish, sea urchins, as well as Mediterranean gastronomic dishes or herb-roasted poultry. Its structure and salinity make it a wine perfectly suited to the table, capable of dialoguing with precise and demanding dishes. Clos des Millésimes Bordeaux offers this vintage in a carefully selected range of rare terroir wines, highlighting meaningful projects deeply rooted in their landscape. This white is aimed at lovers of great Southern wines, seeking emotion, depth, and a sincere expression of the Catalan coast.

La Vallée des Abeilles - Collioure Blanc 2024

Collioure Blanc 2024 from La Vallée des Abeilles is a bright and sensitive interpretation of the great whites of the Côte Vermeille, shaped by the sea, the wind, and the rock. The pale yellow dress with golden reflections announces a wine that is both sunny and taut. The nose opens with aromas of ripe citrus, candied lemon, and white peach, complemented by notes of white flowers and a touch of fresh almond. A saline nuance, almost iodized, immediately recalls the proximity of the Mediterranean and the steep schist terraces. The whole is precise, elegant, without heaviness, with a pure and expressive aromatic profile. From the first sniff, the wine imposes a sensation of balance and quiet depth.

On the palate, the attack is ample but perfectly controlled, supported by a silky texture and a natural freshness that structures the whole. Flavors of white-fleshed fruits continue with notes of citrus zest, warm stone, and a slight floral touch. The texture, both generous and taut, reflects the precise work in the vineyard and cellar, favoring the expression of the terroir rather than opulence. The aging, finely integrated, adds relief without masking the wine’s identity. The palate remains long, balanced, with a saline tension that stretches the finish and enhances drinkability. Each sip expresses the meeting between the power of the sun and the freshness of the sea breeze.

Collioure Blanc 2024 follows the same philosophy as the other cuvées from La Vallée des Abeilles, born from the meeting between Pierre Gagnaire, Thierry and Jean-Emmanuel Parcé, and Rodolphe, around a shared vision made of respect, listening, and long time. It is a gastronomic table wine, ideal to accompany grilled fish, shellfish, refined Mediterranean cuisine, or dishes with iodized accents. It also drinks very well on its own, in a moment of calm, to fully appreciate its depth and finesse. Served around 10 to 12 °C, it reveals all its aromatic complexity and freshness. It is a great white from Collioure, both sincere, precise, and deeply rooted in its landscape.

Grape varieties: Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris.
