This 100% Grenache vintage comes mainly from the unique terroir of "La Crau", red clay slopes topped by rolled pebbles deposited by the Rhône thousands of years ago. Aging is carried out in old oak barrels for 5 years. 'Réserve des Celestins' is at the top of the AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape poster and offers even more breed, panache and aging potential than its little sister 'Marie-Beurrier'.

2012 is a difficult vintage for the whole of the national wine-growing territory. However, the southern Rhône seems to have been spared major health pressures. The cold and rainy spring considerably shifts the very heterogeneous bud burst announcing a late vintage. The saving summer brings the Grenaches to very good maturity and the harvest begins in mid-September.

The color is dark ruby, slightly cloudy. The nose is very intense, with notes of candied sour cherries, blood orange, grapefruit, faded rose petals, violet and leather. The palate is fresh and concentrated, the tannins are very powerful but already melted and carried by a beautiful acidity, the length of the finish is incalculable and very smoky. The aging potential is immense!
