Domaine partagé - Gilles Berlioz - El Hem 2016
Roussette de Savoie
Shared domain - Gilles Berlioz - El Hem - Biodynamics 2016
Breathtaking. This is undoubtedly the qualifier that best suits the Gille Berlioz estate as the quality of the wines produced is proportional to the goldsmith's work carried out by this great artisan winemaker on his 3.5 ha of vines planted on the hillsides. Plowing on horseback, scratching, picking, disbudding, proofing, all these tasks take, in this mountainous setting, the appearance of the labors of Hercules. Located in the Massif des Bauges, near a protected natural area, the estate has been certified organic since 2005 and biodynamic since 2006. It is here that Gilles Berlioz gives life to tasty, juicy Chignin Bergerons with generous pulp . The wines here express all the grandeur and the singular character of these great Savoy terroirs. Each year, the quantities produced are confidential… In 2016, Gilles Berlioz decided to rename the domain: Domaine Partagé. Here is yet another proof of the humility of this great winemaker and of the collective strength that surrounds the estate!
… El-Hem… Emblematic cuvée from the Berlioz estate thanks to which Roussette de Savoie has been given a facelift. The Altesse (the grape) is adorned with an elegant color, a pale gold hue, iridescent with green reflections. As soon as you approach the nose, you are surprised by a whirlwind of aromas: yellow fruits, candied citrus fruits, hawthorn, spices, flint! On the palate, after the fresh and clean attack, this great Savoy wine benefits from an unusual minerality which, far from tarnishing its expression, gives it a precise structure. The finish lingers, chiseled under the effect of a tension specific to this grape variety. We are therefore dealing with a work of goldsmith, which will delight you if you choose to: lover of Savoy wines, or in search of surprises!
