Château LA LAGUNE 1998
Château La Lagune is a vineyard of 80 hectares located in Ludon-Médoc in Gironde. Located in Haut-Médoc AOC, it is ranked third Grand Cru. The origin of the estate dates back to the 18th century, but after the success of the classification in 1855, the castle fell into oblivion during the twentieth century. The renaissance dates from the 1950s, with the restoration of the property in 1958 by Georges Brunet - the farm then had only 4 ha of vines, and the return of the wine to its highest levels.
The wines of Lagune are exceptional with a distinctive character that does not resemble any other and a special cachet with remarkable qualities that make it sought by all gourmets around the world. It has a good aging potential whose color, body and bouquet are maintained for a very long time. For a long time it appeared as a cru of great regularity of the Médoc, generous and round with the pronounced taste of oak. In the mid-90s, this wine gradually weakened, lack of character, texture and without content, diluted wines. While its particular terroir grave mindel, similar to the terroir of Pessac and Léognan, more sandy than normal, gives the wines a great finesse.
Supple and sweet, with a beginning of evolution, this Château La Lagune 1998 is delicious, keeping a very nice freshness.
