Château CITRAN 1961
It is because a part of the vineyard adjoins the Margaux appellation that the wines of Château Citran are so elegant. This reference in the Haut-Médoc, whose oldest known origins date back to 1235, joined the circle of great Bordeaux thanks to the work of the family Merlaut, owner of the castle since 1996. Nowadays, the vineyard reaches a hundred hectares.
If the year 1961 began with a strong political event with the inauguration of the youngest president in American history (J.F.Kennedy), 1961 is sometimes referred to as the vintage of the century, in Bordeaux.
