Château CANTEMERLE 1990
After having been successively the property of the Villeneuve (1576-1892) and Dubos (1892-1980) families, Château Cantemerle joined in 1981 the property inheritance of the powerful insurance mutuals of the building and public works (SMABTP). A complete renovation of the facilities allows the estate to return to its place among the grands crus of the Haut-Médoc appellation. Here, the intervention of man-hand and the use of noble materials have been favoured. At harvest time, the grapes are carefully harvested and sorted by hand. The production of each plot is vinified separately in large oak vats favouring slow and gentle extraction of tannins. The wines are then aged in barrels for twelve months, then slightly clarified before being bottled at the château.
This was the year of success in all the vineyards: the wine of the 1990 vintage is extremely famous! Great year for the wine of Bordeaux 1990 where despite the heat wave, quantity rhymes with quality.
