Domaine Vincent PINARD - Sancerre Rouge - Vendanges Entières 2017
Domaine Vincent Pinard is a producer based in Sancerre, in the Loire Valley of France. The estate spreads over 17 hectares of vines (Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir), cultivated organically. The Sauvignon Blanc was planted in the 1960s, on limestone soils and the Pinot Noir, which average age is 40 years, benefits from the clay-limestone soils.
Vendanges Entières is a Sancerre Rouge whose Pinot Noir comes from the small locality of La Pèlerine (35 ares). The selection of the grapes is very rigorous and the fruit is not destemmed. The juice is cold-macerated in a round wooden vat. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts with gentle pumpings. Aging is carried out in four types of oak barrels, none of which are new. The wine is racked after 18 months in barrels and then bottled without fining or filtration.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
