SHERINGHAM - Kazuki Gin - 43%
Sheringham Distillery is located in Vancouver Island, British Colombia, in Canada. It was established in 2015 by Jason and Alayne MacIsaac. Prior to becoming the Distiller, Jason was a chef who achieved high accolades cooking both locally and internationally. Alayne worked in sales and marketing in Vancouver, then jumped ship to be an entrepreneur & homesteader, returning to the Island where she grew up. In becoming a successful chef, Jason MacIsaac experienced the importance of strong ties with local producers in order to obtain the best quality ingredients and outcome. Jason has extended this ethos to create their unique spirits. The boxes in which the bottles arrive in are re-used for their distribution boxes and they re-use, recycle and compost all that they can.
Kazuki Gin was born out of love of both Eastern and Western botanicals and gin making techniques. Alayne fell in love with Cherry Blossoms while living in Asia and Jason became intrigued with Yuzu as a professional chef. KAZU, meaning “harmony”, is the blending and respect for both East and West cultures. KI means “radiance” and is an ode to the radiant flavours of the botanicals. The Gin is made from their Vodka, with botanicals sourced locally (flowers from Westholme Tea Farm in Cowichan Valley) and from Japan, including Japanese Cherry Blossoms and Green Tea.
