Château DE FIEUZAL - Blanc 1988
Château de Fieuzal is located in the Pessac-Léognan sub-region of the Graves appellation, in Bordeaux. It obtained the status of Grand Cru Classé de Graves for its red wines in 1959 as part of the Graves classification. The estate's vineyards are planted on gravel, clay and sandy soils covering approximately 75 hectares. The vines are on average 35 years old; the Petit Verdot plantations are the oldest and some date back to 1908. Since 2001, Fieuzal has been owned by Brenda and Lochlann Quinn, an Irish couple passionate about wine and determined to perpetuate the uniqueness of the estate. Since 2007, a renewed team has been led by the talented young winemaker Stephen Carrier, who works tirelessly and with passion in search of perfection. Entirely rebuilt in 2011, Fieuzal now has new vinification facilities with concrete, stainless steel and wood vats, which allows it to adapt to each vintage and each grape variety. Very involved in the environment, the Château de Fieuzal has been moving towards organic farming since 2016.
Château de Fieuzal Blanc is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (70%) and Sémillon (30%). The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. 1988 is an excellent vintage for the whites of Pessac-Léognan.
