Domaine Les Creisses - Les Creisses 2020
Domaine des Creisses is located in Valros, in the IGP Pays de l'Hérault in Languedoc. The family property was created in the 19th century and was taken over by Philippe Chesnelong in 1998. Louis Mitjavile, his cousin, brings his expertise for winemaking and aging. The vineyard is under sustainable protection and therefore treated as little as possible, but as much as necessary. It has just been certified High Environmental Value (HVE). The estate has two distinct terroirs: Les Creisses and Les Brunes. Les Creisses consists of an 11-hectare stony clay-limestone plateau with deep soil as well as a development of 20 hectares on hillsides of Villafranchian gravel interspersed with woods. Les Brunes are brown soils of volcanic origin on hillsides planted with Mourvèdre and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Les Creisses is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (27%), Syrah (25%), Grenache (22%), Mourvèdre (10%), Carignan (8%) and Cinsault (8%). The harvest is destemmed, followed by a long maceration of up to 25 days. The wine is aged for 12 to 18 months.
Grape varieties: 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Syrah, 22% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 8% Carignan, 8% Cinsault
