Château LA COUNCILANTE 2014
Château La Conseillante is located in the Pomerol appellation on the border with Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux . The Château is close to L'Evangile and Vieux Château Certan in Pomerol, and Cheval Blanc. Château La Conseillante dates back to the middle of the 18th century, when it was managed by Catherine Conseillan. It has belonged to the Nicolas family since 1871. Since 2003, Bertrand and Jean-Valmy Nicolas, representing the fifth generation, have been writing a new chapter in the history of the estate. They now manage the estate in an ever more eco-responsible and sustainable way. The La Conseillante vineyard covers 12 hectares, made up of sixteen plots, the oldest of which was planted in 1958.
Château La Conseillante 2014 is a blend of Merlot (78%) and Cabernet Franc (22%) . The grapes are put into cold pre-fermentation maceration for 3 days, then the maceration lasts 29 days in concrete vats. The wine is aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels (75%) and in one-wine barrels (25%).
