Domaine Alain Graillot - La Guiraude - Magnum 2019
Domaine Alain Graillot is located in the Rhône Valley, in the Crozes-Hermitage , Hermitage and Saint-Joseph appellations. The estate was founded in 1985 by Alain Graillot and today extends over 22 hectares, mainly planted with Syrah and three hectares of Marsanne and Roussanne. He also owns two plots in Saint-Joseph and a small plot in Hermitage. The vineyards are conducted in non-certified organic farming .
In 2010, Alain Graillot left the controls of the Domaine to his sons, Maxime and Antoine , to devote himself to a consulting activity in viticulture and oenology, until his death in March 2022. Since 2013, the Graillot family has also launched in the production of Beaujolais wines at the Domaine de Fa.
La Guiraude is a cuvée made from a selection of the best barrels of the vintage . The vinification is carried out in whole bunches, with cold maceration and long vatting. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in vats. The aging lasts one year, in oak barrels with very few new barrels.
