Domaine Alain Graillot - Saint-Joseph 2020
Domaine Alain Graillot is located in the Rhône Valley, in the Crozes-Hermitage , Hermitage and Saint-Joseph appellations. The estate was founded in 1985 by Alain Graillot and today extends over 22 hectares, mainly planted with Syrah and three hectares of Marsanne and Roussanne. He also owns two plots in Saint-Joseph and a small plot in Hermitage. The vineyards are conducted in non-certified organic farming .
In 2010, Alain Graillot left the controls of the Domaine to his sons, Maxime and Antoine , to devote himself to a consulting activity in viticulture and oenology, until his death in March 2022. Since 2013, the Graillot family has also launched in the production of Beaujolais wines at the Domaine de Fa.
The Saint-Joseph is made from Syrah . The vatting of the whole bunches lasts 15 to 21 days and then the wine is aged in barrels, with a small percentage of new wood.
