NEISSON - Nonaginta - 47.6%
The Neisson Distillery is located in Carbet , Martinique . It was created in 1932 by the Neisson brothers. Jean, a chemical engineer by training, has devoted his professional life to improving distillation techniques. The descendants of Jean, Claudine then her son Grégory, took up the family torch. The transition to organic farming began in 2013, and in 2016 the first AOC Martinique organic rum was offered to consumers. Gradually, all the land, more than 40 hectares, experienced the same evolution. After years of research, Neisson uses its own strains of indigenous yeasts , selected from those naturally present on the canes of the distillery. Reasoned choice of crop varieties for their adaptation to the typology of each plot, control of watering to save water, efficient treatment of effluents: everything contributes today to the production of high quality agricultural rums in harmony with the ecosystem of the Neisson lands.
