Château Galoupet - Cru Classé 2021
Château Galoupet is located in La Londe-les-Maures, in the Côtes de Provence appellation. It is part of the Cru Classé de Provence . Since 2019, the estate has belonged to Moët Hennessy. Jessica Julmy takes over the management of Château Galoupet with the ambition to express in the wine all the richness of the terroir but also of the fauna and flora, and develops a model of organic viticulture, in conversion since 2020. The vineyard extends on 69 hectares, with 77 hectares of classified woods sheltering umbrella pines, holm oaks, wild grasses and arbutus trees as well as rare species of bats, migratory birds and the Hermann's tortoise, an endangered species.
Château Galoupet is a blend of Grenache (49%), Syrah (15%), Tibouren (15%), Rolle (12%), Cinsault (7%) and Mourvèdre, Cabernet and Sémillon (2%). Each plot is harvested, pressed and vinified separately. Part of the wines (38%) of the final blend were vinified and aged for 4 to 5 months in 600-litre barrels : half new and the other half in one-year-old barrels.
