Domaine Abbatucci - Faustine Rosé 2024
Domaine Comte Abbatucci is located in Casalabriva, in southern Corsica . It is located in the heart of the Taravo Valley at an altitude of around 100 meters, and is one of the oldest vineyards on the island. Composed mainly of emblematic grape varieties such as Vermentino, Sciacarello and Nielluccio, the 21-hectare estate is home to a unique collection of endemic grape varieties that contributes to the preservation of the island's wine-growing heritage. The estate is now managed by Jean-Charles Abbatucci and his daughter Faustine . The vineyard and winemaking techniques have followed the principles of biodynamics since 2000, with an influence of phytotherapy practices: plowing with horses and controlling winter grassing with his flock of sheep.
Faustine Rosé is made from Sciaccarello grapes grown on granite soils facing north and northwest. The whole or destemmed grapes are pressed directly, followed by static settling for 24 to 48 hours. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged on fine lees for 6 months .
