Domaine de la Folie - Rully Rouge - Clos de Bellecroix 2024
Domaine de la Folie, located in the heart of Rully, is one of the historic landmarks of the Côte Chalonnaise. Anchored on the heights of the village since the 19th century, it rigorously cultivates a hillside vineyard, where limestone and clay combine to produce precise, balanced, and profound wines. The owner family perpetuates a know-how that respects nature and the terroir, combining sustainable viticulture and plot-by-plot vinification to reveal the full personality of each climate.
The Rully Rouge Clos de Bellecroix 2024 perfectly illustrates this philosophy. Coming from a confidential vineyard, this Pinot Noir benefits from ideal exposure that promotes even ripeness and beautiful aromatic concentration. The grapes are harvested by hand before gentle maceration and aging in oak barrels for twelve months, some of which are new, to preserve the purity of the fruit while adding subtle complexity. The 2024 vintage, balanced and luminous, is distinguished by the precision of its fruit and the delicacy of its tannic structure.
The nose seduces with a refined palette of small red fruits, black cherry, and peony, enhanced with a spicy and slightly smoky touch. On the palate, the wine is ample and supple, supported by juicy flesh and melted tannins. The finish, fresh and persistent, reveals an elegant minerality and a note of crisp morello cherry, emblematic of great Rully reds.
Ideal with roast poultry, rack of lamb with herbs, or a mature cheese like Époisses. Serve between 15 and 16°C, after a short airing to release all the aromatic finesse.
