Domaine Morey Coffinet - Meursault Perrières 1er Cru 2024
The Domaine Morey-Coffinet, located in Chassagne-Montrachet in Côte de Beaune, stands out as one of the most rigorous and committed signatures of contemporary Burgundy. Managed under certified organic farming FR-BIO-01, the vineyard undergoes meticulous soil work and constant attention to the vitality of the vine. The vinifications are minimally interventionist, favoring indigenous yeasts and long aging to preserve the purity and natural tension of the terroirs. Each cru is worked with precision, seeking a balance between depth, minerality, and elegance. The domaine's parcel cuvées are produced in limited quantities and are highly sought after.
The Meursault Perrières 1er Cru 2024 is made exclusively from Chardonnay, coming from one of the most prestigious climats of Meursault. The Perrières terroir, characterized by very stony and limestone-rich soils, gives the wine remarkable mineral tension and structure. The 2024 vintage offers precise ripeness, supported by a beautiful natural freshness. The vinification is followed by aging in carefully selected oak barrels, bringing complexity and depth without masking the finesse of the terroir. This premier cru stands out for its masterful balance between power and precision.
On tasting, the wine reveals an intense nose of ripe lemon, pear, white flowers, and gunflint, with subtle buttery and lightly toasted notes. The palate is ample, vibrant, and chiselled, supported by taut minerality and remarkable energy. The balance between richness and freshness gives the wine great depth and persistent length. The finish is long, saline, and refined, a signature of the greatest Meursault Perrières. This wine has significant aging potential, evolving towards even deeper complexity over the years.
