Domaine Roc des Pins - Tavel Rosé 2025
Domaine Roc des Pins Tavel Rosé 2025 is part of the personal project of Léon de Pins, the new generation of a family deeply rooted in the southern Rhône. Son of Rodolphe de Pins, a figure of Château de Montfaucon, he develops with Roc des Pins a more parcel-based, finer, and more contemporary approach to the terroirs of Lirac and Tavel. This cuvée highlights one of the most unique appellations in France for rosés, capable of producing wines with color, substance, and gastronomy. Here, the goal is not to create a pale and light rosé, but a wine with character, expressive and tailored for the table. The 2025 vintage offers a bright, fresh, and refined reading of Tavel, with beautiful fruit intensity and real mouthfeel. The whole remains faithful to the Roc des Pins spirit, between indulgence, precision, and search for balance. It is a very fine proposition for lovers of deep, dry, and Mediterranean rosés.
Made from 70% Cinsault and 30% Grenache, this Tavel presents a delicate and modern interpretation of the appellation. The majority Cinsault brings freshness, aromatic brightness, small red fruits, and a very seductive lightness sensation. The Grenache completes the blend with more flesh, roundness, and Mediterranean depth. The old vines trained in goblet shape root in a limestone environment marked by pines, with soils that favor maturity, drainage, and tension. The aging of about six months on lees in Stockinger demi-muids brings texture and relief without masking the purity of the fruit. This approach produces a gastronomic rosé, structured but digestible, capable of accompanying much more than a simple summer aperitif. The wine retains true freshness while embracing the color, density, and personality typical of great Tavels.
On tasting, the robe presents a deep, bright pink with raspberry reflections. The nose evokes wild strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate, vineyard peach, and blood citrus, with a floral touch and a hint of garrigue. The palate is ample, fresh, and juicy, carried by a bright red fruit and a delicately enveloping texture. The substance remains elegant, with just enough relief to remind that Tavel is a table rosé before being a terrace rosé. The finish prolongs the red fruits, soft spices, and a slightly saline sensation that brings great drinkability. This rosé can be served around 10 to 12°C, in a wine glass, to respect its gastronomic dimension. It will ideally accompany Mediterranean cuisine, grilled dishes, roasted poultry, seared tuna, stuffed vegetables, octopus salad, a light tagine, or a beautiful plate of fine charcuterie.
