Château LAFON-ROCHET 1979
The origin of "Rochet" comes of course from "rocks" making up Lafon-Rochet's soil. For millennia, fragments of rocks torn from the distant mountains of the Massif Central and the Pyrenees, carried by the Dordogne and the Garonne modeled in gravity by erosion, are deposited on the limestone base of Saint-Estèphe, constituting a landscape with rumps well drained deep deep. At Château Lafon-Rochet the farming methods are mostly manual, like the harvest. There is no winemaking recipe in Lafon-Rochet but a permanent search to favor the expression of the terroir and the particularity of the vintage. Powerful, rich and concentrated, Château Lafon-Rochet can face the weather beautifully, while being full, suave and civilized.
