Château Lafitte - Jurançon Moelleux 2015
Château Lafitte is a former manor house from the 14th century, located in Monein, between Pau and Oloron Sainte-Marie, in the Pyrénées Atlantiques.
The current owners of Château Lafitte, Philippe and Brigitte Arraou, have been undertaking a project for thirty years that has been their dream for a long time: to revive wine production. Since 2012, it is their son Antoine, passionate winemaker, committed to preserving the environment who manages the estate. He developed it from organic farming to biodynamics, and paved the way for natural wines. He produces high quality wines respecting the balance of the land and the vine. The 5-hectare vineyard is made in equal parts of Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng.
Jurançon Doux is a blend of 50% Gros Manseng and 50% Petit Manseng harvested from the second half of October. The fermentation is spontaneous then the aging lasts 24 months on fine lees in oak barrels.
