Domaine Patrick Baudouin - Effusion Anjou blanc 2018
The Patrick Baudouin estate has thirteen hectares of vines on the terroirs of "Black Anjou", west of Anjou. The soil is made up of schists, sandstone, volcanic rocks from the very old Armorican bedrock. The range consists of Chenins de Savennières, Quarts de Chaume, dry white, semi-dry Anjous, and Côteaux du liquoreux layon, Red Anjous from Cabernets. The cellar, built in noble materials in 1910, has a neat, harmonious, and functional architecture.
The Effusion cuvée was inaugurated in 2001. It is a blend of Chenin with an average age of 35 years, coming from plots of hillsides on cinerites, rocks of volcanic origin, on a shale base. Fermentation and aging takes place in Burgundy barrels of several wines. There is a total spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
