Château TERTRE ROTEBOEUF 2017
Le Tertre-Rôteboeuf is located in Saint-Émilion, in Bordeaux. It is ranked Grand Cru Classé. The estate is owned by François and Emilie Mitjavile, who also owns Château Roc de Cambes (Côtes de Bourg), and L'Aurage (Côtes de Castillon). The Château was known as Le Tertre until 1975, when the family Mitjavile decided to add Rôteboeuf to the property name to make it more distinctive. The vineyards are spread over just under 6 hectares on a steep slope. The terroir is slightly cooler than most Saint-Émilion properties, meaning that Tertre-Rôteboeuf is usually one of the last in the region to finish picking, but this also contributes to the wine's richer style. Yields are kept very low to ensure a concentrated wine and grapes are harvested by hand.
The Château Tertre-Rôteboeuf a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). It is fermented in temperature-controlled concrete tanks and aged in new oak barrels for 24 months.
Grape varieties: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
