Château CANTEMERLE 2001
Château Cantemerle is located in Macau en Médoc, in the Haut-Médoc of Bordeaux . It was classified Fifth Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. After having belonged to the Villeneuve (1579-1892) and Dubos (1892-1980) families, Château Cantemerle was acquired in 1981 by the SMA Group (Société Mutuelle d' Insurance for building and public works companies). The renovation of the technical installations and the replanting of the vineyard are immediately undertaken. After two decades devoted to oenological progress, the vine is coming back to center stage with a more environmentally friendly approach and the application of “green” techniques aimed at improving the quality of the grapes. Today, the Cantemerle vineyard extends over 98 hectares, of which 95 hectares are in production.
