Descendants of J. Palacios - Petalos 2020

The estate was founded in 1998, the result of a collaboration between renowned Priorat producer Alvaro Palacios and his nephew Ricardo Perez Palacios . The vines are spread over 200 plots in the municipality of Corrulón, representing approximately 30 cultivated hectares. The estate is a tribute to Alvaro's father and Ricardo's grandfather, who died in early 2000.
Petalos is made from Mencia from five municipalities: Corullón, Valtuille, Villadecanes, Parandones and Villafranca del Bierzo, located between 450 and 1,000 meters above sea level. The age of the vines varies from 40 to 90 years. After destemming and partial pressing, the alcoholic fermentation takes place in barrels and open stainless steel vats . The maceration lasts 30 days. The wine is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels .
