Domaine Belargus - Beehives - Monopole 2021
Domaine Belargus is located in Val-du-Layon, in the heart of the Anjou Noir region in the Loire Valley. The vines are spread around three main islands (Savennières, Quarts-de-Chaume and Coteaux du Layon), themselves composed of unique terroirs, defined precisely by their exposure, their subsoil or their slope. Built by Ivan Massonnat , the 20-hectare biodynamic estate is dedicated to Chenin Blanc and explores these micro-terroirs in a plot-by-plot approach inspired by Burgundy climates. The team is made up of young talents such as Adrien Moreau as cellar master and Amaury Chartier as head of cultivation and the estate benefits from the support of true Loire pioneers such as Jo Pithon and Guy Bossard.
The "Clos des Ruchères" Monopole is located at the foot of Roche-aux-Moines and rests on a hillside of purple schist, which is rare in this appellation area. This cuvée is made from Chenin Blanc grown on 0.40 hectares on a southwest-facing terroir. The wine is aged for 2 years.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
