Château de Sérame - Rouge Sérame 2023
The Château de Sérame is a historic family estate, established in Corbières since 1803, in the heart of a Mediterranean landscape shaped by the garrigue, the winds, and the light. Generation after generation, the family cultivates a demanding and sensitive vision of wine, claiming a haute couture approach, where every gesture counts, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The estate pays particular attention to life in its entirety, with a constant reflection on soil balance, the precision of vinifications, and the sincerity of human relationships. The wines of Sérame seek to tell a place, a time, and a perspective, far from standards, with a strong and assumed identity.
The cuvée Rouge Sérame 2023, in AOP Corbières, comes from a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan, worked with great parcel precision. Vinifications are carried out by grape variety and by parcel in concrete vats, to preserve the purity of the fruit and the readability of the terroir. The aging takes place over 12 months in amphorae and barrels, bringing depth and texture without marking the wine, before a final blend in concrete vats for two months before bottling. The 2023 vintage highlights a bright and balanced expression of Corbières, combining freshness, finesse, and aromatic complexity. This cuvée perfectly embodies the search for elegance and precision dear to the estate.
On tasting, the wine seduces with its lightness, its freshness, and its soft tannins, offering a fluid and harmonious mouthfeel. The nose evokes notes of cumin, cocoa, and vibrant red fruits, between cherry and raspberry, with a vibrant energy. The whole evokes a graphic work, both structured and sensitive, like a Mondrian or a Soulages, where each element finds its rightful place. The finish is balanced, clean, and persistent, inviting to the table. This Corbières will perfectly accompany a caramelized pork cheek, roasted vegetables, or a characterful Mediterranean cuisine. It has a cellaring potential of 5 to 7 years, allowing it to gain even more complexity and depth.
