Château de Sérame - Blanc Sérame 2024
The Château de Sérame is a historic family estate located in Corbières since 1803, in the heart of a Mediterranean environment shaped by the garrigue, the winds, and the light. Generation after generation, the family cultivates a unique vision of wine, claiming a haute couture approach, where every gesture is thought out with precision and meaning. The work carried out in the vineyard as well as in the cellar is part of a global reflection on the living, soil balance, and sincerity of expressions. Above all, the estate seeks to produce wines that tell their terroir, their era, and an assumed aesthetic universe. This requirement is found in all the cuvées, with no compromise on quality or identity. Château de Sérame today asserts itself as a distinctive signature in the landscape of contemporary Corbières.
The cuvée Blanc Sérame 2024, in AOP Corbières, comes from a blend of Roussanne, Rolle, and Grenache blanc, worked with great parcel precision. The vinifications by grape variety begin in concrete tanks to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. Part of the juice is then aged in barrels (about 20%), bringing complexity and texture without excessively marking the wine. The aging continues for eight months, combining concrete tanks and barrels to find a subtle balance between tension and volume. The 2024 vintage offers here a luminous and vibrant expression, where the fruit's maturity remains perfectly controlled. This white cuvée illustrates an elegant and ambitious vision of Corbières white, capable of combining energy and depth.
On tasting, the wine stands out for its acidulous character, its tension, and an immediate sensation of joy and dynamism. The nose opens with aromas of exotic fruits, pear, bergamot, and white flowers, offering great aromatic freshness. The palate is precise, slender, and balanced, with harmonious matter supported by beautiful liveliness. The finish is clean, persistent, and saline, leaving an impression of purity and momentum. This white will perfectly accompany oven-roasted duck legs or a cheese platter, but also refined cuisine with Mediterranean accents. It has a aging potential of 5 to 7 years, allowing it to gain complexity over time.
