Domaine Ghislaine Barthod – Chambolle-Musigny – 2020
Located in Chambolle-Musigny, in the very heart of the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Ghislaine Barthod is an essential address for lovers of great Burgundian Pinot Noir. Thanks to uncompromising standards both in the vineyard and the cellar, Ghislaine Barthod produces wines of exemplary precision, combining aromatic purity, elegance, and a keen sense of terroir expression. Today, her cuvées rank among the most sought-after of the appellation.
Made exclusively from Pinot Noir, this Chambolle-Musigny village wine reflects the very identity of the appellation. The 2020 vintage, marked by warm and sunny conditions, delivered perfectly ripe, concentrated grapes. The wine thus combines depth and richness with preserved mineral freshness. This cuvée perfectly embodies the estate’s style: a subtle balance between Chambolle’s floral delicacy and a firm structure, ensuring excellent aging potential.
Its brilliant ruby robe reveals fine intensity. The bouquet displays ripe red and black fruits—cherry, raspberry, and blackberry—enhanced by floral violet notes and a spicy touch. On the palate, the attack is supple and elegant, with fine tannins supporting a dense yet perfectly balanced texture. The finish is long and harmonious, leaving a mineral and fruity imprint, typical of great Chambolle-Musigny. A wine to enjoy now after decanting, but which will gain complexity with a few years of cellaring.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
