The harvest is manual with double sorting. The very original vat room, remarkably rebuilt at the end of the 90s, is equipped with thermoregulated truncated conical mini-vats allowing vinification by plot (20 stainless steel vats and 10 wooden vats). The tanks are loaded by gravity. After assembly, the aging is carried out for 16 to 22 months in oak barrels (new from 50 to 70% depending on the vintage).
The red wines of Malartic-Lagravière combine power, complexity, finesse and balance. Their dense tannic structure gives them an aging potential that generally reaches 20 to 30 years. In constant progress, the result of the passion and efforts of its owners and the remarkable technical work accomplished, they are now very close to the best wines of the Pessac-Léognan appellation.
1978 is a nice vintage in Bordeaux, especially in Pessac Leognan. Nice bottle to drink today.
