“Le P'tit Blanc” by Joël Ménard is a white wine, as its name suggests, made from Chenin vines planted on shale soils.
Christine and Joël Ménard settled in Rablay-sur-Layon in 1982. He is the son of a cooper who converted to the vines with the appearance of vats in the 1960s. In 1989, they moved to a locality. L'Espérance and continue from their path with "at the bottom of their hearts, a little spark that motivates them every day to extract all the sincerity of their wines". Because the Ménards are one of those winegrowers who dare and try. They converted very early - in 1996 - to organic farming, then to biodynamics.
The harvest is manual, the fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts naturally present on the skin of the grapes, the vinification takes place without chaptalization (addition of sugar), without added sulphites. Bottling takes place without prior filtration, always with the aim of preserving the integrity of the fruit.
Dry and fat at the same time, on a nose of honeysuckle, broom, honey and almond, this cuvée has a supple and round mouthfeel while freshness and a finish that does not lack length.
B i o-nheur in a bottle… You will see that there is nothing small about this white!
