EDDU - Silver Sherry Cask Finish - 60 years LMDW of - 46%
Aged first in Cognac casks and then refined in Pedro Ximenez-type sherry casks, this bottled version without cold filtration took advantage of its stay in Andalusian wine casks to extract the quintessence of the cereal from which it comes - the buckwheat - to better highlight the fruitiness so characteristic of this Breton whiskey produced since 1998 in Plomelin in Finistère by the Le Lay family. Thus, pears and apples freely travel the paths of an aromatic and taste palette that also shines with its green and honeyed tones.
Profile: pulpy, the nose is marked by notes of toffee and praline which underline the influence of aging in pedro ximenez casks. Little by little, buckwheat takes the ascendancy. Fruity (pear, apple), the mouth is gradually covered with salted butter caramel. The finish is crisp.
