LA FAVORITE - White Rum - Brut 2 columns - 73.2%
La Favorite is one of the last independent distilleries in Martinique with Neisson. It was founded in 1842 on the vestiges of a sugar refinery called the Jambettes and will be renamed La Favorite in 1851. Henri Dormoy acquired it in 1909 and then proceeded to make some improvements to transform the sugar refinery into a distillery. Following a few twists and turns linked to a certain penchant for gambling by Albert Dormoy (son of Henri), La Favorite saw its activity cease in the years 1938. It would not resume its activity until André, his younger brother, did not take it over to completely renovate it in 1956. Today, La Favorite produces sugar cane on 60 ha and is also supplied from small local producers, it still operates entirely using a built-in steam engine. in 1906 and still valiant. The vesou (cane wine), obtained from cane juice fermented over a very long time that can reach 72 hours, is distilled in 2 Creole columns, one of which is entirely of copper and has been operating since 1957 and the other more modern in dates from 1986.
This two-column Brut cuvée (nice play on words because it is the result of two distillation columns) is the latest cuvée from the famous La Favorite distillery. Communion is the key word of this first raw agricultural rum from the column. It is indeed that of the two Creole columns of the house. But it is also that of two skills: the artisanal production associated with the talent of Lucas Vallerie, artist and native of the country who knew how to perceive the soul of the Favorite and transcribe it to make this magnificent label. This rum is not reduced by adding water to offer a unique and intense taste experience with its 73.2%! To your palates :)
Finally, in an eco-responsible approach, La Favorite uses labels, back-labels and cases made from recycled paper made from 95% sugar cane fibers and 5% hemp and flax.
