Domaine Andrée - Les Faraunières 2016
Domaine Andrée is located in the Anjou appellation, in the Loire Valley. The small cellar was founded by Stéphane Erisée. Before creating the domain, he worked with Antoine Foucault, from Domaine du Collier. He exploits 5 hectares of vines which he cultivates in organic farming and produces wines from Cabernet Franc, Chenin, Grolleau Noir and Grolleau Gris grapes, pursuing the philosophy of minimal intervention and using the minimum of sulphites in the processes of winemaking.
Les Faraunières comes from a 1.4-hectare plot of 100-year-old Chenin Blanc grown on schist soil of yellow clay and quartz. After manual harvesting, the grapes are meticulously sorted and put into direct pressing. Fermentation and aging last for 18 months in barrels, 1/3 of which is new.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
