Domaine Eric Morgat - La Croisée des Chenins 2017
Domaine Éric Morgat is located at Clos Ferrard in Savennières, in the Loire Valley. The estate was created in 1995, entirely by buying up wasteland or abandoned plots. Eric Morgat now cultivates 6 hectares of Chenin Blanc in certified organic farming.
La Croisée des Chenins is a blend of the different parcels of the estate; La Roche aux Moines, Clos Ferrard, Pierre Bécherelle and Clos Sertaux. This cuvée was born due to the frost episode on April 26th and 27th, 2017 in Savennières which almost entirely destroyed the future harvest. The surviving grapes from each vine are vinified and aged separately in barrels. The blend was made in March 2019, one month before bottling. The wine was then left to stand for an additional year.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
