Domaine Les Creisses - Les Brunes 2020
The Domaine des Creisses is located in Valros, in the IGP Pays de l'Hérault in Languedoc . The family property was created in the 19th century and was taken over by Philippe Chesnelong in 1998. Louis Mitjavile, his cousin, brings his expertise in winemaking and maturing. The vineyard is under reasoned protection and therefore treated as little as possible, but as much as necessary. It has just been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) . The estate has two distinct terroirs: Les Creisses and Les Brunes. Les Creisses is made up of an 11-hectare stony clay-limestone plateau with deep soil as well as a development of 20 hectares on hillsides of Villafranchian gravel interspersed with woods. Les Brunes are brown soils of volcanic origin on hillsides planted with Mourvèdre and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Les Brunes is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (62%) and Syrah (38%) . The harvest is destemmed and put in vatting for 25 days at high temperature. The wine is aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels , with a selection of fine grains and a medium plus toast.
Grapes: 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Syrah
