Château LEOVILLE POYFERRE 2015
THE Chateau Leoville Poyferre is located at Saint-Julien To Maroon . He is classy Second Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification and was part of the conglomerate of the three Léovilles (Las Cases, Barton, Poyferré). Léoville Poyferré was bought by the Cuvelier family in 1920. The Château's vineyard covers 80 hectares, planted only with classic Bordeaux red grape varieties. Within it, to the northwest of the appellation, are the 20 hectares of Château Moulin Riche, which also belongs to the Cuvelier family. Château Léoville Poyferré has obtained certification High Environmental Value level 3 (the highest level) since the 2017 vintage for all of its vineyard.
THE Château Léoville Poyferré 2015 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (26%), Petit Verdot (6%) and Cabernet Franc (3%) . The grapes are cold macerated for optimum extraction and aromatic purity, then fermented in stainless steel tanks before ageing. The wine is aged in oak barrels aged 18 to 20 months , with a proportion of new oak.
