Domaine Robert Chevillon - Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots 2009
Domaine Robert Chevillon is located in Nuits-Saint-Georges , in the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy . It was founded by Symphorien Chevillon at the beginning of the 20th century. Around 1914, Eugène-François, after 2 years of military service and 5 years of war, took over the estate and bought a few Premier Cru plots. Died in 1943, it is his wife who continues to maintain the vineyard with the help of their 3 children. The estate was then passed down from father to son to Denis and Bertrand , who are in charge of the property today. The vineyard area is 13 hectares, mainly Premiers Crus.
Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Chaignots comes from a 1.55 hectare plot located in the northern part of the vineyard, between 260 and 280 meters above sea level. After manual harvesting, the grapes are put into cold pre-firm maceration for 6 days. During vatting, punching down and pumping over are carried out daily. The wine is aged between 15 and 18 months in barrels; 30% new and 70% in one-wine barrels.
